ANTALYA - The General Assembly of the European Festivals Association (EFA) began Thursday in the southern province of Antalya.
Turkey`s Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay, who delivered a speech at the opening of the General Assembly meeting, said Turkey was represented at EFA with five international festivals.
Gunay said the festivals were the most joyful way of interacting with other nations and noted that a communique on "intercultural dialogue" would be issued under the General Assembly.
"I believe that the interaction of cultural differences in an atmosphere of peace and harmony will contribute to the development of democracy," said Gunay.
EFA`s President Darko Brlek, Secretary General Hugo De Greef and 150 delegates from Turkish and European festivals are attending the meeting.
