Joint Military Exercise Between Turkey, Romania And Russia

ANKARA - Turkey, Romania and Russia will perform a joint military exercise in the Black Sea.
The Black Sea Partnership-08 exercises would take place between April 25th and May 8th, the Turkish Naval Forces Command said on Thursday.
This is one of the concerted exercises of the Turkish Naval Forces, and staged within the scope of the Partnership for Peace (PfP) of NATO.
"The exercise aims at enhancing training and cooperation among Black Sea littoral states," the naval forces command said in the statement.
In the statement, the command said that the exercise also aimed at supporting PfP activities.
Turkish, Romanian and Russian teams will put to test search and rescue operations and would give naval training to the staff.
The ships participating in the exercise will visit Eregli port in Turkey`s Black Sea coast from April 26th to 29th, and anchor at the Istanbul port from May 2nd to 4th.
Russia, Turkey, Romania and Georgia participated in the previous exercise held between April 24th and May 5th, 2007.
