AMSTERDAM - A photography exhibition comprising of photographs of Ataturk, Founder of the Republic of Turkey, was inaugurated at a Dutch university on Tuesday.
Nearly 50 photographs of Ataturk, all taken during the early years of the Republic, are being displayed at the exhibition, which was jointly organized by University of Twente of the Dutch city of Enschede and the Turkish Embassy in The Hague.
Delivering a speech at the inaugural ceremony, Selahattin Alpar, Turkish Ambassador in The Hague, said that the modern Republic of Turkey, founded by Ataturk, shared the same values of civilization with the West today.
Henk Zijm, rector of University of Twente, said that Ataturk was a unique statesman and politician.
The "Ataturk Photographs Exhibition" in Enschede will stay open for 3 days.
