ANKARA - Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu met Tuesday German companies in environment technologies sector over a dinner hosted by German Ambassador in Ankara Eckart Cuntz.
Speaking to reporters, Eroglu said Turkey needed to take "rapid steps" regarding environmental issues, adding that the government would invest 44 million euro in environmental projects.
"And we are ready to develop our relations with Germany on this matter, our doors are wide open," Eroglu said.
Cuntz said on his part that German companies made significant contributions in environmental protection and developing environmental technologies in Turkey.
The German ambassador also said German Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel would visit Ankara in May.
