ISTANBUL - Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik visited an exhibition at Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul on Tuesday.
She told reporters at the museum that the cultural differences between Turkey and the EU were not a problem.
Plassnik said that the EU had a slogan as "union of differences". She added that this slogan could be applied to religion as well.
Plassnik later met Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeow, and visited Hagia Georgi Church.
Plassnik told reporters after the meeting that it was important to contribute to dialogue between religions and cultures.
She also held a meeting with Istanbul Mufti Prof. Mustafa Cagrici.
Plassnik had had meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ali Babacan in Ankara on Monday; and proceeded to Istanbul on Tuesday.
