VIENNA - Turkish diplomats at Turkey's Embassy in Vienna submitted on Tuesday to Austrian Foreign Ministry the file elaborated to support Alaattin Cakici's extradition. Cakýcý is considered as the head of an organized crime gang. The file will be handover to the Austrian Justice Ministry.
The file prepared by Turkish Justice Ministry contains all information and documents about crimes committed by Cakici in Turkey, and the judicial process regarding these crimes.
Turkish Embassy officials recalled that Turkey conveyed its request for the extradition of Cakici through a diplomatic note. They added that all legal procedure had been completed now by Turkey.
Austrian Justice Ministry officials said that a judge would decide whether or not to extradite Cakici to Turkey after he/she examined the extradition file.
Cakici, who was arrested in Graz, Austria on July 14th, is kept in a cell at the Vienna State Court.
Liaison officer of the Turkish Police Department, who played an important role in Cakici's arrest by Austrian police, is expected to meet the Mafia boss later in the day.
