SIRNAK - Turkish police detained six people on charges of aiding and abetting the terrorist organization PKK/KONGRA-GEL in southeastern Sirnak province, the Governor's Office said on Wednesday.
A statement of the Governor's Office indicated that PKK/KONGRA-GEL terrorists were arrested red-handed when they were preparing for a terrorist attack in Sirnak's Cizre town.
The statement noted that police arrested a while ago three terrorists and their collaborators, a total of 6 people, who were preparing to stage attacks on Cizre Bridge, a police station and court house in the same town, and pointed out that six more collaborators had been detained.
Nine detainees were being interrogated, the statement said.
The statement added that police seized three AK-47 (kalashnikov) assault rifles, nine hand grenades and explosives to be used in planned attacks of the terrorist organization, as well as food stuff and clothes.
