ISTANBUL - The number of ADSL subscribers exceeded 5 million in Turkey, country`s fixed telephone line service provider said on Monday.
A statement by Turk Telekom said the number of subscribers increased remarkably thanks to the company`s efforts to make widespread internet use across the country.
It said the number of ADSL subscribers had exceeded 5 million at the end of 2007.
Turkey is among top world countries with highest internet broadband subscribers in 2007, "World Broadband Statistics" report of London-based Point Topic said.
