E.U. Trade Commissioner Lamy Due To Turkey

BRUSSELS - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Trade Pascal Lamy will leave for Turkey on Wednesday on a two-day working visit.
Lamy will attend the Fourth European-Mediterranean Trade Ministers' Conference in Istanbul.
Later, he will proceed to Ankara on July 22 to meet Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, State Minister Ali Babacan for Economy, State Minister Kursat Tuzmen, and chairmen of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission and the Parliamentary Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission.
Ministers of 25 EU-member countries and Mediterranean countries such as Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Palestine and Egypt will be in attendance at the Fourth European-Mediterranean Trade Ministers' Conference in Istanbul.
Commercial issues under the Customs Union between Turkey and the EU will be high on agenda of bilateral meetings of Lamy in Ankara.
