ANKARA - Turkish defense industry companies are expected to attract a great deal of attention at an international defense industry fair in Malaysia.
37 companies from Turkey will participate in the 11th Defense Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA 2008) that will begin on Monday in Malaysia`s capital Kuala Lumpur.
Turkish Defense Industries Undersecretary Murad Bayar and high-ranking commanders from Turkish Armed Forces will also attend the exhibition.
Industry experts said Turkish defense industry companies are expected to draw intense interest at the exhibition, which is the largest fair in Asia. The exhibition is important for Turkish companies to open up eastern Asia countries such as, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines, which are the target areas for the sector, experts added.
Over 600 defense industry companies from more than 50 countries will take part at the exhibition.
With over 200 companies, 2.5 billion USD of annual turnover and 500 million USD of exports, Turkish defense industry sells products to many countries including NATO members and focuses on original production.
