Irish Biker Wins One Of Laps Of Turkey's Cycling Tour

FETHIYE - An Irish biker won one of the laps of the cycling tour of Turkey on Thursday.
Savini Flippo of Ireland came the first in the Marmaris-Oludeniz (towns in Aegean Region) lap of the International Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey.
Turkey is hosting the tour for the 44th time this year.
Flippo biked the 178-kilometer lap in 04.40.24, while Zanasca Luca of Serbia became the second and Garcia Latorre Jame of Spain came the third.
The tour will continue with 103-kilometer Kalkan-Finike (Mediterranean coast) lap on Friday.
The cycling tour kicked-off in the city of Istanbul on April 13th.
The tour, comprised of one grand prix (Istanbul) and seven laps, will end on April 20th. Cyclers will ride 1,071 kilometers during the tour.
Around 150 cyclers from Turkey, Ireland and the Netherlands are competing in the event.
The cyclers will follow a route from the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul to the southern city of Antalya, via some Aegean and Mediterranean towns.
