ANKARA - Turkey`s monetary policy board did not change the short-term interest rates on Thursday.
The Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank kept the overnight borrowing interest rate at 15.25 percent, and the overnight lending rate at 19.25 percent.
"Following decisions on interest rates will depend on developments in global markets, foreign demand, financial policy practices and other factors affecting the medium-term inflation outlook," the board said in the statement it released after its meeting in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
This was the fourth meeting of the Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank since the beginning of 2008.
In its previous meeting on March 19th, the board did not change the short-term interest rates either. It kept the overnight borrowing interest rate at 15.25 percent, and the overnight lending rate at 19.25 percent.
