Turkish Court Convicts Adana "Suicide Bomber"

ADANA - A criminal court convicted on Thursday a woman, who was captured with 11 kg of explosives while preparing for a suicide attack in southeastern province of Adana, and sentenced her to 22 years in prison.
Ayfer Aycicek was arrested in Adana last year with a bag full of plastic explosives. She said she joined the terrorist organization PKK in 1995 and was sent to Adana by the organization to stage a suicide attack.
Criminal court also sentenced another suspect Adem Barik, of aiding and abetting the "suicide bomber", to 7 years in prison.
