ANKARA - Foreign exchange reserves of Turkish Central Bank were up, the bank said on Thursday.
The Central Bank`s foreign exchange reserves rose to 75.3 billion USD on April 11th.
They had been 74.5 billion USD on April 4th.
In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank said its total gross reserves (foreign currency plus gold) fell to 122.2 billion USD on April 4th. They were around 125 billion USD on March 28th.
Of April 4th`s total gross reserves, 44.2 billion USD was from privately owned companies, including commercial banks while the Central Bank held the rest.
Also, Turkey repaid 602 million USD of foreign debt between April 1st and 16th.
Turkey paid back 19.3 billion USD of foreign debt in 2007, and the foreign debt Turkey repaid since the beginning of 2008 amounted to 6.9 billion USD.
