General Electric, Dogus Chairmen Receive Award In U.S.

NEW YORK - Chairmen of U.S. conglomerate General Electric (GE) and Turkey`s Dogus Group received "corporate partnership" award in NYC.
American Turkish Society (ATS) honored GE chairman and chief executive Jeffrey R. Immelt and Dogus chairman Ferit Sahenk for their successful partnership at an annual gala dinner in New York`s Waldorf Astoria hotel on Wednesday.
GE and Dogus are partners in TV broadcasting (CNBC-e), finance (Garanti Bankasi) and real estate (Dogus-GE).
Addressing the audience Sahenk said trade volume between Turkey and United States, which is currently around 12 billion USD, would grow in the future. He said he believes more Turkish and American companies would establish partnership and more American companies would invest in Turkey.
In his speech, GE CEO Immelt said Turkey was a very good country to invest in, adding he admired labor force in Turkey. Immelt also said partnership between Dogus and GE was perfect and dynamic.
ATS presented awards to Ford and Koc in 2006 and Citi and Akbank in 2007 for their partnerships.
