ANKARA - Turkey`s energy minister said Thursday Turkish government had begun talks with Iraqi authorities to help the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) enter the list of companies that would explore new oil reserves in Iraq.
Reminded by a journalist that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil did not include the TPAO in its list of 35 foreign companies that would search for new oil reserves in Iraq, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said that lists could always get changed.
"We have begun talks with Iraqi authorities so that the TPAO can enter the list of companies that will conduct searches for oil in Iraq. I hope that we would enter Iraq`s list. The list is not definite yet. There is no need for comments. There is certainly a list and we will enter this list," Guler also said.
