Turkey Raises $812 Million Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 205,520 tons of hazelnuts and earned 812,417,147 U.S. dollars in the 46th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data released by Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey actually exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 160,783 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU), 24,024 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 12,553 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 7,159 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 244,580 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 562,544,433 U.S. dollars.
