Moscow - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised the positive results of Damascus Arab Summit and their role in tackling issues of the region.

Lavrov, in statements published in his Ministry's website on Wednesday, said his country was concerned over the latest developments in Gaza Strip and the West bank under Israeli continued practices and settlement activities.

On Lebanon, Mr. Lavrov underlined importance of the Arab League initiative on the country, calling for positive involvement in finding solution to the Lebanese crisis.

On Iraq, the Russian Foreign Minister said there was need to set a date for ending the foreign military presence in the country to lay proper ground for the national accord among the Iraqis and preserve the unity and independence of Iraq.
