SARAJEVO - Turkey's environment minister said on Wednesday that Turkey was at an advanced level in water technologies and many countries preferred Turkish contractors in related projects.
Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu participated in a regional meeting of the "5th World Water Forum" in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo.
"Turkish contractors are ranked the third concerning water investments in the world," Eroglu said, replying to questions after the meeting.
He said Turkey currently shared its experience and knowledge on water technologies with numerous countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Sudan and countries in the Middle East.
During his speech at the meeting, Eroglu also said that activities aiming at the minimization of the pressure on water resources and the efficient usage of water in order to prevent drought should be accelerated.
He said the activities on waste water treatment and procurement of drinking water continued rapidly in Turkey.
