British Envoy Pledges To Encourage Cypriots For Reunification

LEFKOSA - A senior British envoy pledged Wednesday to encourage Turkish and Greek Cypriots for reunification of their island.
Joan Ryan, the special representative of Britain for Cyprus, said that her country would support the efforts of Turkish and Greek Cypriots, aiming to reunify Cyprus.
After meeting President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ryan told reporters that she had seen Talat willing to resolve Cyprus problem.
Ryan said she continued talks with both parties in Cyprus to encourage them to maintain their efforts for reunification of the island.
The British envoy is expected to meet later in the day with TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer and Foreign Minister Turgay Avci.
