ANKARA - Turkey's General Staff said on Wednesday that security forces killed a group of armed PKK terrorists who wanted to infiltrate in Turkey on Tuesday.
A group of armed PKK/Kongra-Gel terrorists were trying to sneak into Turkey from the north of Iraq in order to stage terrorist attacks in Turkey, the General Staff said on its website.
The General Staff said Turkish jets pounded on the terrorists and killed them.
"The same day (Tuesday), one terrorists was taken out of action in clashes that emerged between the security forces and terrorists in the rural areas of Sirnak's Kupeli Mountain and Diyarbakir's Silvan town (southeastern Anatolia Region)," the General Staff also said.
The General Staff said Turkish troops went on with their operations to arrest other terrorists who ran away.
Many arms and ammunition were also seized in the operations, the General Staff also said.
