BODRUM - Televisions across Europe have broadcasted alive for the first time a Turkish cycling tour in 106 countries and also aired promotional features on Turkey's cultural and historical riches.
Turkey's state-run TRT and a German production company is working in cooperation to broadcast the 44th Presidential Cycling Tour in what officials from the Turkish cycling federation called "the most effective promotion campaign ever made in Turkey."
150 cyclers from 13 countries are competing in the week-long tour which covered a grand prix in Istanbul and seven legs between the Aegean town of Kusadasi and the Mediterranean town Alanya.
