DOHA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday he does not believe that his party would be banned.
Turkey`s chief prosecutor filed a lawsuit last month asking the Constitutional Court to shut down Erdogan`s ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party.
Speaking to reporters in Qatar, where he holds formal talks, Erdogan said his aides were working on a constitutional amendment but he did not elaborate.
Asked whether the lawsuit itself means that AK Party would be banned, Erdogan said, "I do not believe in such a thing anyway."
