Doha- Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan told reporters in Qatar on Tuesday he doesn`t believe that the AKP will be closed by the Constitutional Court, the Anatolian Agency reported.
When questioned by reporters about if he thought the lawsuit filed against the party would mean its closure, Erdogan responded, ``Anyway, I don`t believe something like that (the party`s closure) will happen.``
Erdogan said, "My friends are working on the issue at the moment. They will make a presentation to me on the issue when I return from Qatar,`` adding they will continue working on the procedural process of the case in the Constitutional Court once the presentation has been reviewed.
Turkey`s Constitutional Court decided on March 31 to examine an indictment prepared by the chief prosecutor, who claimed the AKP became the "focal point of anti-secular activities" and demanded its closure.
