WASHINGTON D.C. - Turkish State Minister for Treasury Mehmet Simsek said on Monday that Turkey and International Monetary Fund (IMF) reached an overall consensus.
Speaking to journalists in Washington D.C., Simsek said stand-by arrangement with the IMF would continue till May 10th.
"After this, `Post-Program Monitoring` will start automatically. Talks may take place for "Cautionary Stand-by" if necessary, and the dialogue will get deepened," he added.
"Letter of intent will be sent soon, and thus we will conclude IMF program successfully. Turkey hopes IMF Executive Board of Directors to approve it," Simsek said.
Simsek said he would proceed from Washington D.C. to New York to meet representatives investment and rating agencies and later travel to Brussels.
