Turkey Resolute On Social Security Reform, Minister

WASHINGTON D.C. - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said on Monday that social security reform has key importance for Turkey and expressed Turkey's decisiveness to fulfill this reform.
Addressing a lunch organized on the occasion of the 27th annual American-Turkish Council meetings, Simsek gave information to audience about the economic condition and the reforms in Turkey.
Simsek said advantages of the reform in question could be seen in the long period, noting that Turkey could earmark source to important fields such as education, research & development and infrastructure if the law is enacted.
Simsek said rising retirement age to the level of European standards was necessary.
"Political stability has key importance for the stability of economy. Turkey became more resistant both to internal and external shocks thanks to the reforms," Simsek added.
