DOHA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that the economic crisis in United States had no impacts on Turkish economy yet, but he added that expectations were not clear.
Speaking to Turkish people living in Qatar, where he has been holding talks for two days, Erdogan said global capital has been doubtful in the year 2008 which was considered as the year of investment.
"Everybody I spoke started the conversation with skeptical attitude. But I try to convince them," Erdogan said.
He said economic parameters were quite well in Turkey, adding "there is no problem but we have to be cautious."
Erdogan said Turkey`s central bank has 72 billion USD in its reserves, and stated that credit risks of Turkish banks are now around 2.5 percent which he said was 35 percent in the past.
"Turkey, which pays its debts in due time, inspires confidence to other parties," he said. "We have been going warily."
