ISTANBUL - Istanbul is hosting an international conference on European trade, bringing some 65 American firms together seeking business opportunities with Turkish companies.
The conference, "European Trade Wind," is held by Turkish-American Businessmen's Chamber and the U.S. Undersecretariat for Trade.
Speaking to reporters at the three-day conference which began on Monday, U.S. Trade Undersecretary James Fluker said that U.S. companies were very eager to engage in partnership with their Turkish counterparts, adding that they planned the conference as a response to the progress Turkey's economy had made over the last six years.
