ANKARA - Turkey's parliament speaker will pay formal visits to Slovenia and Germany in the following week.
Speaker Koksal Toptan will travel to Slovenia on Monday and proceed to Germany on Wednesday.
Toptan will be the guest of the president of the Slovenian National Assembly during his stay in this country.
Turkey's parliament speaker will meet his Slovenian counterpart France Cukjati on Tuesday. Afterwards, the two speakers will hold a joint press conference.
Toptan is expected to meet chairmen of parliamentary committees and be received by President Danilo Turk.
Proceeding to Germany on Wednesday, Toptan will meet president of the North Rhine Westphalia State Parliament in Dusseldorf and hail the state parliament.
Toptan is expected to return to Turkey on Thursday after meeting Armin Laschet, the minister for generations, family, women and integration of the federal state of North Rhine Westphalia.
Both Germany and Slovenia are European Union members, and Slovenia is actually holding the rotating presidency of the union.
