BOSTON - A Turkish-U.S. scientific association convened in Boston, United States on Saturday for a two-day annual conference.
The fourth annual conference of the Turkish-American Scientists & Scholars Association began at the Harvard University.
Academicians, scholars, scientists and representatives of private sectors from Turkey and the United States will focus on innovation as driver for social transformation and economic growth.
"Turkey and the United States are two strategic partners, sharing same values, ideals and vision," Turkey's Ambassador to the United States said in a message he sent to the opening session of the conference.
Ambassador Nabi Sensoy also said scientific and technological cooperation will help this partnership become stronger.
Speaking to reporters, the association's president said they think of organizing a conference in Turkey in December 2008.
President Banu Onural said the association wants to continue this dialogue also in Turkey, and expressed thought that they can reach a larger group and generate more innovational opinions in Turkey.
Turkey's defense industry undersecretary is expected to speak on the last day of the annual conference on Sunday.
The Turkish-American Scientists & Scholars Association is an independent, non-profit and non-political organization established in June 2004 in Washington D.C. The association's vision is to build a sustainable science bridge between USA and Turkey.
