BAKU - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Monday that he attached great importance to cooperation between Turkish and Azerbaijani parliaments.
Aliyev, who received Turkish parliamentary delegation headed by Haluk Ipek, the Chairman of Turkish-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group, stressed that relations between Turkish and Azerbaijani parliaments were improving gradually and this would contribute to bilateral relations.
On the other hand, Ipek said that they exchanged views with Azerbaijani parliamentarians on activities of women parliamentarians and defined their meeting as very fruitful.
Pointing out that one of the deputy chairmen of Azerbaijani National Assembly was a women parliamentarian, Ipek said that they hope that a woman parliamentarian should also be appointed as the deputy parliament speaker in Turkey.
