LEFKOSA - Serdar Denktas, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Foreign Minister said that starting of non-stop flights to TRNC as a first step to end isolation of Turkish Cypriots, was a must.
Meeting foreign journalists who arrived in TRNC to cover July 20th Peace and Freedom Day celebration, Denktas stressed that tourism and education were two main income earning sectors of TRNC.
Denktas said, ''rightfully, we expect that our isolation should be ended. To end our isolation, non-stop flights to TRNC must be started.''
Noting that the Greek Cypriots were making anti-Turkish Cypriot propaganda, going to every corner of the world as a European Union (EU) and United Nations (UN) member, Denktas said, ''we don't want the world to punish the Greek Cypriots for what they have done for 30 years and their negative attitude in (simultaneous) referenda. All we want is to be treated equally with the Greek Cypriots.''
