Turkey Remains In Same World Bank Classification Despite Rise In National Income

WASHINGTON, D.C./ANKARA - Upsurge in national income has not changed Turkey's place in World Bank's classification. Turkey remains in upper-middle-economies category.
Turkey's national income per capita in 2007 rose to 9,333 USD following new calculations based on Atlas method.
World Bank experts said Turkey should exceed 11,115 USD of national income per capita to step up to the next category, high-income-economies.
Upper-middle-economies category represents the countries with national income between 3,596 USD and 11,115 USD.
