Two Turkish Frigates Arrive At Batumi

TBILISI - Two Turkish frigates arrived at Georgia's Batumi sea port on Friday as part of the "Starfish 2008 maneuvers" conducted by the Turkish Naval Forces.
Turkish frigates were welcomed to Batumi by Commander of the Batumi Naval Base, Lieutenant Colonel David Vacelidze, Turkey's Military Attache in Georgia Colonel Sefer Acar and Turkey's Consul General in Batumi Kazim Cavusoglu.
The two Turkish frigates will be open to public visits in Batumi between April 11th and 13th.
Turkish frigates will conduct rescue operations, emergency assistance and sea security exercises with their Georgian counterparts.
As part of the "Starfish 2008 maneuvers", Turkish frigates will also visit ports in Romania, Russia and Ukraine.
