ISTANBUL - A Eurasian economic summit will take place in the Turkish metropolis, Istanbul, in May, the organizer said on Friday.
Turkey's Marmara Group Foundation will host the Eurasian Economic Summit for the 11th time from May 1st to 3rd, a statement of the foundation said.
The foundation also said the venue of the summit will be Istanbul Chamber of Commerce headquarters.
One prime minister, three deputy premiers, 13 ministers, three former presidents, high-level bureaucrats, academicians and businessmen from foreign countries will participate in the summit.
Energy will be discussed on the first day of the summit, while the participants will focus on economy on the second day, and dialogue for peace on the last day.
Turkish executives expected to attend the summit are former president Suleyman Demirel, Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan, Tourism & Culture Minister Ertugrul Gunay, Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, Industry & Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan, state ministers Kursad Tuzmen, Nimet Cubukcu and Said Yazicioglu.
The Eurasian Economic Summit is organized annually by the Marmara Group Economic and Social Research Foundation. It is aimed to explore ways of enhancing relations between the European Union, the countries of Central Asia, as well as the Caucasia, and the Middle East.
146 dignitaries and relevant authorities from 29 different countries attended last year's summit in Istanbul.
