Turkish Canned Food Producer Sells Part Of Its Subsidiary To American Company

ISTANBUL - Turkey's Tat Konserve, one of country's largest canned food producer, said on Friday it sold 10 percent of shares of its subsidiary Harranova Besi to U.S. Morning Star Company for 2.5 million USD in cash.
In a statement sent to Istanbul Stock Exchange, Tat said it owned 68 percent shares of Harranova, which is based in southeastern Anatolia, and sold 10 percent to California-based Morning Star, a manufacturer of bulk tomato products.
Tat exports its products to 73 countries throughout the world. Its tomato products are used in worldwide fast food chains such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Arby's. TAT is a Koc Holding company, and has partnerships with Japanese Kagome and Sumitomo firms.
