ANKARA - The 44th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, which will take start on April 13th, is the largest international organization ever held in Turkey, said head of Turkey's youth & sports administration on Friday.
The 8-day event will bring together prestigious teams and riders from around the world.
Mehmet Atalay, director-general of Youth & Sports Administration, said the tour was a magical formula for Turkey's publicity.
"This race will contribute to 'Turkey brand' in international level," he said. "This event will become a well-known organization just like Tour de France."
The 44th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will start at Istanbul's Sultanahmet square, the heart of the metropolis. Riders will tour Turkey's Aegean and Mediterranean coast and visit several ancient cities such as, Efes (Ephesus), Side, Aspendos, as well as many tourist resorts such as Oludeniz (Blue Lagoon), Dalyan and ruins of ancient Lycia civilization. The tour will finish in Alanya town of Mediterranean province of Antalya on April 20th.
Last two hours of all stages of the race will be broadcast live.
