Polish president signs EU treaty into law

WARSAW - Poland definitively ratified the EU`s Lisbon Treaty Thursday, as President Lech Kaczynski signed into law the accord meant to streamline the 27-nation bloc, his office said.

Kaczynski`s move marked the final step in Poland`s ratification of the treaty, after both houses of parliament approved it earlier this month following weeks of wrangling between the liberal government and eurosceptic opposition.
