NEVSEHIR (CIHAN) - Twenty nine people including a policeman were detained on Saturday in central Turkish cities of Nevsehir and Kayseri in separate anti-crime operations. The detainees were charged of organized crime. Police seized five pistols, four bulletproof jackets, five rifles and one armored Mercedes vehicle.
The gendarmerie teams, acting on tips off, carried out coordinated operations in town of Kozakli, Nevsehir and in Kayseri. Police captured twenty-nine people including one police Bayram Ö. on charges of murder, atrocious assault, blackmail and of forcing people to sign bill.
Gendarmerie teams seized five pistols, 77 bullets, four bulletproof jackets, five rifles and an armored vehicle. The suspects were reported to be responsible for murdering of Sükrü Çetin in northwestern city of Yalova. The crime suspects would be transferred to court following their interrogation.
Police officers said that the clues and the interrogation of suspects showed that they were behind several crimes in several cities.
