LEFKOSA - Mehmet Ali Talat, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), on Friday described the proposals of the Greek Cypriot side ''to decrease tension in military area and build confidence in Turkish Cypriot side'' as an attempt to deflect attention.
Talat said the actual target in Cyprus should be an integrated solution.
TRNC Prime Minister said all those issues which Greek Cypriot side put in front of them today as ''measures'' would have been solved if a solution could have been found.
Talat harshly reacted to the proposal of the Greek Cypriot side to use jointly the Gazimagusa port in case Maras was returned to Greek Cypriots.
Talat said, ''if there had been an agreement, Maras would have been given to Greek Cypriot side. We were to operate Magusa port. They voted 'no' to the agreement but claimed half of Magusa port together with Maras. It can not be accepted.''
