Gul: Turkey Passes Critical Threshold In E.U. Process

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Friday that Turkey passed the critical threshold in European Union (EU) process, yet stressed that still there were things to be done.
Gul denied the news reports when journalists reminded him that EU Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verhuegen gave him a ''list of deficiencies'' prior to Progress Report.
Gul said what Turkey should do was clear being a candidate country to the EU, and noted that Turkey rapidly fulfilled all those by including them to the National Program and the government program.
Gul said there were many things to be done even after the negotiations start, and noted that at the point that was reached Turkey already met Copenhagen criteria.
