IZMIR/SANLIURFA - Turkish security forces confiscated a total of 47 kg of hashish in separate operations conducted in the western province of Izmir and in southeastern province of Sanliurfa on Saturday.
Three people were detained in connection with the illicit drugs.
In related news, the Istanbul Police Department said Saturday that its narcotic teams impounded 217 kg of hashish, 71 kg of heroin and 5.3 kg of cocaine in operations conducted in March. A total of 373 suspects, including foreign nationals, were detained during the operations.
