Turkish General Staff Says 15 Terrorists Were Killed In Iraq's North

ANKARA - Turkish General Staff said Saturday that 15 PKK/KONGRA-GEL terrorists were killed by long-range weapons fire in Avashin-Basyan region in the nort of Iraq on Thursday after it detected a group of terrorists trying to infiltrate Turkey to stage attacks on targets in the country.
General Staff also said Turkish fighter planes carried out an air assault on Friday against targets in the region, adding that the number of terrorists killed in the air assault was unclear.
