ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan said Friday that "Turkey will emerge much healthier from a current worrying climate."
Addressing reporters after his meeting with a number of Turkish non-governmental organizations headed by Rifat Hisaciklioglu, the chairman of the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Toptan said he welcomed the call by the NGOs for "common sense," adding that all segments of the society should gather around this call.
"The statements that chairmen of political parties and leaders of the NGOs have issued all through the week made my belief stronger that we will overcome these times with success and even emerge more powerful," Toptan said.
Hisarciklioglu said in his part that they presented to Toptan their statement calling for common sense, adding that making common sense and compromise a priority of the society should be main goal of all sides.
