Lefkosa Turkish Cypriot And Greek Cypriot Mayors Meet At Buffer Zone

LEFKOSA - Lefkosa Turkish Cypriot Mayor Cemal Bulutoglulari and Lefkosa Greek Cypriot Mayor Eleni Mavru met in the buffer zone to examine the activities for opening of Lokmaci Gate to pedestrian passages between Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot side.
Bulutoglulari told reporters that workers are securing the gate by covering walls of collapsed buildings in the area.
Bulutoglulari said that Lefkosa Greek Cypriot Mayor Mavru expressed hope that opening of Lokmaci Gate will be a step to solve Cyprus problem.
He added that UN is financing the activities of the teams in the gate.
