LONDON - Turkish Eximbank signed Thursday a loan agreement in British capital of London, worth 250 million USD.
The loan was provided by 22 banks headed by Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi. It has one-year maturity and its interest rate is eurobor +0.50 percent.
This loan is an outcome of the confidence in Turkish economy and Eximbank, Francesco Carrobi, the DG of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, said during the signature ceremony.
On the other hand, Turkish Eximbank DG Ahmet Kilicoglu said many banks including ABN Amro Bank, Akbank International, Barclays Capital and Doha Bank came together and provided the loan.
"Our bank aims to provide financial support worth 10.6 billion USD to exporting companies in 2008," he told.
Kilicoglu said Turkish Eximbank plans to provide about 800 million USD of loan this year.
"We have launched initiatives to get fund from the World Bank and European Investment Bank in coming months," he also said.
