Turkey Should Not Be Uneasy About Sarkozy's Remarks, Ambassador

ADANA - French Ambassador to Turkey Bernard Emie said Thursday Turkey should not feel uneasy about French President Nicolas Sarkozy`s remarks regarding Turkey-EU relations.
"There is a close friendship between Mr. Sarkozy and Mr. (PM Recep Tayyip) Erdogan," Emie told Mayor Aytac Durak of southern province of Adana.
Emie is actually in this Mediterranean city to participate in the inauguration of Alliance Francaise Cultural Society.
The ambassador said Sarkozy and Erdogan can have tete-a-tete.
"We know how important steps democrat and secular Turkey have taken to integrate to the western world. Reforms are particularly beneficial to Turkey," Emie also said.
