Primary Budget Surplus 15 Quadrillion Liras In First Half Of 2004

ANKARA - Turkey's primary budget surplus was 15,040 trillion Turkish liras (TL) in first half of 2004, reaching 74.4 percent of the target at the end of the year.
The budget deficit which had been 24,759 trillion TL in the January-June period of 2003 reduced to 14,585 trillion TL in the same period of 2004.
The Turkish Ministry of Finance released on Thursday results of budget expenditures and revenues as of June 2004.
The consolidated budget expenses were 10.4 quadrillion TL, consolidated budget incomes were 7.2 quadrillion TL, budget deficit was 3.1 quadrillion TL and primary budget surplus was 382 trillion TL in June 2004.
Budget expenses in June included 2.3 quadrillion TL of personnel expenditures, 206 trillion TL of state premium payments to social security agencies and 766 trillion TL of goods and services purchases. Interest expenditures were 3.5 quadrillion TL, current transfers were 2.7 quadrillion TL, capital expenses were 529 trillion TL, capital transfers were 22 trillion TL and lending was 149 trillion TL.
The consolidated budget revenues in June included 5.8 quadrillion TL of tax incomes, 1.3 quadrillion TL of tax-exempt incomes, 15 trillion TL of capital incomes and 116 trillion TL of added budget incomes.
Meanwhile, in the January-June period of 2004, the consolidated budget expenses were 64.3 quadrillion TL, consolidated budget incomes were 49.8 quadrillion TL, budget deficit was 14.5 quadrillion TL and primary budget surplus was 15.4 quadrillion TL.
