THE HAGUE - Turkish Foreign Minister & Chief Negotiator for the EU talks Ali Babacan met on Wednesday Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen.
Babacan and Verhagen met in Wassenaar town near The Hague and attended talks between the delegations of the two countries.
In a joint news conference, Babacan and Verhagen pointed to the positive developments in the course of the bilateral relations, indicating that they exchanged views on many matters.
Babacan said they had the opportunity to discuss many issues, including energy and terrorism, which directly concerned the two countries and assessed many international matters.
Underlining that Turkey and the Netherlands shared similar views on many matters, Babacan said the Netherlands extended support to Turkey`s works on the way to EU membership and fight against terrorism.
Verhagen said they welcomed Turkey`s firmness to continue reform process, noting that Turkey was an Islamic country ruled by democracy and an element of stability in its region.
Dutch FM underlined that Turkey has a gradually growing importance with its location on international energy ways.
