NEW YORK - The 7th Boston Turkish Films Festival will begin Thursday with the screening of renown Turkish director Fatih Akin`s film "The Edge of Heaven".
During the festival which will last until May 11th, Ferzan Ozpetek`s "Saturno Contro", Tayfun Pirselimoglu`s "Riza", Dervis Zaim`s "Waiting for Heaven", Baris Pirhasan`s "Adam and the Devil" and Turgut Yasalar`s "Fog and Night" will be screened in North America for the first time.
Also winners of the 12th Boston Turkish Festival Documentary and Short Film Competition "Single Wall City", "Forsaken Paths", "My Mother Learns Cinema", "The Last Game", "Troia" and "Takva" will be screened under the festival.
Boston Turkish Film Festival`s "Excellence in Turkish Cinema Award" will be presented to director Reha Erdem on April 6th. The director`s film "Times and Winds" will be screened after the award ceremony.
Also under the festival "The Cry of the Reed " a play by famous Turkish playwright Sinan Unel will be staged by Wimberly Theater between April 9th and May 3rd.
